Top 8 Places for Engagement Shoots in Middle Georgia

If y'all don't know me personally, or know my daily schedule, I drive around the middle Georgia area A LOT. I mean, we live in Gray, my full-time gig is in Forsyth, and I normally head to Macon every day either for a Pure Barre class or to teach dance at my studios!

So, on my daily tour of the middle Georgia area, I have found precious little spots that have captured my attention and I have been dying to shoot there ever since I've spotted them!

For my brides, any of these would be a PERFECT location for your engagement session or bridal session. For my families or seniors, any of these would be delightful starting point for your sessions! Check out my list below.

1. Amerson River Park, Macon
This park is SO dreamy! The way the light comes through the trees is something magical (see photo above). I only explored a small portion of the park for a family section and I would love to see how stunning it is in the fall.

2. Washington Park, Macon
I hopped out of my car and explored this a bit when I was scouting for my friend's pregnancy announcement shoot. The staircases, the flowers, the pond... everything about this park is beautiful. And to think it's tucked in the middle of a city... I love that! I can already picture you cozying up to your loved one on the stairs... :)

3. Wesleyan College, Macon
The brick buildings, the luscious trees... AH! I am just itching to shoot at this gorgeous location. This would be perfect for a couple who wants a lot of greenery in their pictures along with some architectural elements tied in.

4. Vineville Methodist Church, Macon
I drive by this church almost every day and WOW are there some amazing shots just waiting to be made! The front of the church is stunning and reminds me a lot of the Chapel on UGA's campus. And then if you head to the side of the church, there is a beautifully maintained garden area. I would have to ask permission from the church first but this is one of the locations that I just *know* I have to shoot at!
UPDATE: I have a family session scheduled for here and I am SO excited!!!

5. Downtown Macon
If you are looking for an urban vibe to your photos, let's explore downtown Macon! There are SO many incredible spots here that we could spend all day exploring.

6. Carol's Park/Jones County Courthouse/Downtown Gray, Gray
I would love to explore the quaint little park in my town! There is a gazebo, a little garden, and tons of potential here! The courthouse steps offer a great background, too, for a little mix of urban with nature.

7. Downtown Milledgeville/Georgia College Campus
Okay so I LOVE a good college town and Milly brings me all the warm and fuzzy feelings that I had when I lived in Athens! The downtown is full of character and the buildings on campus are just stunning. I shot a senior session with some gals here and boy was it fun! I can't wait for next April - I am hoping to shoot some more seniors there in 2019!

8. A greenhouse in Milledgeville?
Okay so I am not positive on this one but I saw a precious little greenhouse on Montgomery Street in Milledgeville. I don't even know the name of it but hey... I know what I like when I see it!!

*BONUS*
9. There is a beautiful hidden creek on my husband's grandparents' land. It is cool, quiet, and would make for some stunning portraits. If you are interested in a nature-filled shoot, let me know. I would love to take you here and explore the 100+ acres of pure beauty.  This photo below is on that property but the location I am talking about is tucked between the trees... *swoon*

Let me know if I have left off a favorite spot of yours in the middle Georgia area! I would be happy to keep this list growing!
